BTSが第76回国連総会「SDGs Moment」でスピーチ全文和訳「ロストではなくウェルカム・ジェネレーション」

米ニューヨーク国連本部で9月20日、持続可能な開発目標(SDGs)への取り組みを加速させるためのイベントが開かれた。

毎年恒例行事でもある9月20日前後から1週間にわたり開催される国連総会。昨年はCOVID19でオンライン開催となったが、今年は国連本部会場を中心に、関係者のみの入場制限付きで開催されている。

本日朝、国連グレーテス事務総長が冒頭演説。韓国大統領の来訪に敬意を表するとともに、BTSの国連への再来訪（3回目）を讃えた。

そんな中、BTSは、文在寅(ムン・ジェイン) 大統領特使として、世界に未来をテーマにしたメッセ―ジを発信し、例年にないほどに国連総会に注目が集まっている。

BTSはメッセ―ジで、「新型コロナで世界は止まったように感じたが、世の中は少しずつ前に進んでいる。未来について悲観的に考えないでほしい。ロストジェネレーションではなく、ウエルカムジェネレーションだ」と、自分から率先して行動を起こす勇気と必要性を呼び掛けた。

スピーチと会場の様子は、国連オフィシャルストリーミング（ライブ）で、適宜に配信されているが、国連オフィシャルYOUTUBEで配信された直後から早々にアクセス再生数が、朝8時～午後13時の５時間で50万回を超えた。

その直後に披露された国連本部前ガーデンでの群舞のダンス・メッセージに感動した人も多いはず。

世界に向けて未来の世代に発信されたBTSのスピーチメッセージは、ここニューヨークから全世界の国境を超えたすべてのジェネレーションに向けて発信された。BTSは韓国の「未来世代と文化のための大統領特使」も務めている。

今朝のBTSの力強いメッセージは、特に同じ世代の若いジェネレーションを含めた全世代の人々に、コロナ禍後の今後の世界は希望のあるものだと勇気づけたに違いない。

2021年9月20日：BTS＠国連総会スピーチ全文(日本語訳)

アブドラ・シャヒード閣下、国連総会アントニオ・グテーレス事務総長、ムーン・ジェイン大統領、そして世界中のリーダーの皆様。

今日はこの場にいることを光栄に思います。私たちBTSは、韓国の大統領特使に任命されました。
私たちは今日、未来の世代の物語を共有するためにここにいます。

私たちはここに来る前に、世界中の10代、20代の若者たちに、他の過去や、今自分がいる世界について尋ねました。

ここでは、その回答の一部をご紹介します。

私もこの2年間、戸惑いや悩みを感じたことがありました。
でも、ここには「生きよう」「この瞬間を大切にしよう」と叫ぶ人たちがいます。

人生の中で最もチャレンジングな時期に、立ち止まっているわけにはいかないからです。

誰かを責めることはできないし、あなたもこの悔しさを感じたはずです。私は昔と同じですが、世界はまるでフラッシュでパラレルワールドに運ばれたかのように変わりました。

入学式や卒業式が中止になったと聞いて、悲しくなりました。
人生の中で最も祝福したい瞬間なのに、それができないというのは、さぞかし辛いことでしょう。

長く予定していたコンサートツアーが中止になったときも心が痛みましたし、完成させたかった瞬間をしばらくの間、恋しく思うこともあります。

そうです。私たちは、新型コロナウイルスに奪われた命を嘆き、当たり前のように存在する一瞬一瞬がいかに貴重なものであるかを知ることになりました。

「当たり前にある大切なもの」について話したところ、多くの人が自分の大切な瞬間の写真をシェアして、私たちの質問に答えてくれました。

多くの人が、自然との時間を共有している様子を見せてくれました。この2年間で、彼らは自然を大切にすることを経験し、大切な時間を見つけたのだと思います。

でも一方で、地球上で過ごせる時間が限られているという恐怖感が押し寄せてきたかもしれません。

先ほど、私たちが嘆くことについて話しましたが、地球の朝について考えるとゾッとします。

気候変動が重要な問題であることは誰もが認めるところですが、最善の解決策を考えるのは容易ではなく、結論を出すのが難しいテーマです。

難しい話ですが、今日の準備をしていてわかったのは、環境問題に興味を持ち、それを自分の分野として選んでいる若者がたくさんいるということです。

未来は未踏の地であり、誰よりも私たちがそこで過ごすことになるのですから、その未来をどう生きるべきか、その答えを若い人たちは探していたのですから、未来を厳しい闇とだけ考えないでほしいと思います。

世界を憂い、答えを探している人たちがいる。

私たちの未来の物語には、まだ多くの人が生きて存在しています。すでに結末が書かれているような言い方はしてはいけないと思いました。

もちろん、世の中には覚悟を決めても、道を踏み外してしまうようなこともあります。

私たちも同じように感じていた時期がありました。

今の10代、20代の人たちは、最も多様な機会を必要とし、新しいことに挑戦しなければならない時期に道を踏み外してしまったということで、「コッビド・ロスト・ジェネレーション」と呼ばれているそうですが、道を踏み外しているというのは大げさな話だと思います。

この写真を見てください。ネット上での友情を新しい形で継続し、健康的な生活を送るために、新しいことを学び始めようと努力している多くの人々がいます。

これらの子供たちは、新しいことを学ぼうとし、新しいことを理解しようとしていますが、迷っているようには見えず、新しい勇気を得て、新しいことに挑戦しているように見えます。

だからこそ、“ロスト・ジェネレーション “ではなく、“ウェルカム・ジェネレーション “と呼ぶのがふさわしいのではないでしょうか。この世代は、変化を恐れるのではなく、歓迎し、前に進み続けると言っているのですから。

そうなんです。

可能性を信じて希望を持てば、予期せぬことが起きても、道を見失うことなく、新たな発見をすることができます。また、完璧ではないかもしれませんが、何もできないわけではありません。

それが私の考えです。

大切なのは、変化に直面したときにどのような選択をするかということではないでしょうか。

私たちが国連に来るというニュースを聞いた方の中には、私たちが予防接種を受けたかどうかを気にされている方もいらっしゃると思いますので、この場を借りて、私たち7人全員が予防接種を受けたことをお伝えします。

予防接種は、今日のメッセージで述べたように、私たちを待っていてくれたファンに会うため、そして今日ここで皆さんの前に立つことができるための、もう一つのパスポートになってくれました。

私たちも、予防接種のように、今できることをやっています。

この新しい現実を前進させるために、努力を続けています。そして、私たちが再び顔を合わせることができる日は、まだまだ先のことだと思いますが、その時まで、お互いにポジティブなエネルギーに満ちた日々を感じていたいと思います。

世界が止まったと思っていたのに、前に進み続けている私たちの選択はすべて、終わりではなく変化の始まりだと信じています。

この生まれたての新しい世界で、私たちがお互いに「ようこそ」と言えることを願っています。

そして今

私たちがこの未来を楽しみにしているように、“The permission to dance “は、私たちが今日、皆さんと共有したい歓迎のメッセージです。

Your Excellency Abdullah Shahid 76 United Nations general assembly, your Excellency Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, your Excellency president moon Jae-in and distinguish the leaders from around the world,

It is an honor to be here today.
We’re BTS appointed a special presidential Envoy for the Republic of Korea.

We are here today to share the stories of our future generation.

Before we came here, we asked the young people in their teens and 20s around the world and other past and about the world they find themselves in today.

Jin will share some of the answers we receive.

Yes. we take a look you can feel the good vibes from just looking at these.

There were times during the past two years when I too felt bewildered and troubled

But still, here we have people who cry out let’s live on let’s make the best of this moment

because we can’t stand still when we are in the ideal Time of Our Lives to take on new challenges.

It wasn’t as if we could blame anyone, and you must have felt the frustration here I’m the same as I was but the world changed like we were transported in a Flash to a parallel world

I was saddened to hear that entrance and graduation ceremonies had to be canceled.

These are moments in life, you want to celebrate, and missing out on them must have been upsetting,

We were heartbroken when our long-planned concert tours were canceled and for a while, we yearn for the moments we wanted to make complete.

Yes. It was a time for us to mourn for the things that covid took away from us a time to discover how precious each, and every moment with taken for granted War.

Sugar mentioned the precious things taken for granted and lots of people answered our question by sharing pictures of their precious Moments.

Many people showed how they share their moments with nature I think during these two years they found dear the time they experienced and care for nature

Yes. but maybe because we feel an encroaching sense of dread that our time on this Earth is limited

We just talked about the things we mourn and I shudder to think about morning for the Earth.

Everyone agrees that climate change is an important problem but talking about what the best solution might be that’s not easy, it’s a topic that’s tough to make conclusions about.

Yes. It is a tough discussion, but I learned while preparing for today that there are many young people who have an interest in environmental issues and choose it as their field of study

The future is unexplored territory and that’s where we more than anyone will spend our time so these young people were searching for the answers to the question of how we must live that future, so I hope we don’t just consider the future as grim darkness

We have people who are concerned for the world and searching for the answers there are still many people left in the story about us and I thought we shouldn’t talk like the endings have already been written.

Of course, sometimes the world seems stuck in place even if you’re ready to go sometimes it feels like you’ve lost your way.

There was a time when we felt the same way.

I’ve heard that people in their teens and twenties or today are being referred to as covid Lost Generation that there they’ve lost their ways at a time when they need the most diverse opportunities and must try new things, but I think it’s a stretch to say they’re lost just because as a pasty tread can be seen by grown-up buys.

Yes. Take a look at these pictures here we many who are trying hard to continue their friendships online in new ways, start learning new things to live healthier lives

Yes. these kids are trying to learn new things and trying to figure new things out how they don’t look lost they look like they are finding new courage and taking on new challenges.

I think that’s why instead of The Lost Generation a more appropriate name “The welcome generation” would be because instead of fearing change this generation says welcome and keep forging ahead

That’s right.

If we believe in possibilities and hope even when the unexpected happens, we will not lose our way but discover new ones there will be choices we make that may not be perfect but that does not mean there will be nothing we can do.

That what I think.

What is important is the choice we make when we’re faced with change, right?

Some of you heard the news that we’re coming to the UN and a lot of you were wondering whether we have been vaccinated and I take this opportunity to say yes all seven of us, of course, received vaccinations.

The vaccination was a sort of taking it to meeting our fans waiting for us and to being able to stand here before you today just like we said in our message today.

We do too are doing what we are able to do right now like the vaccination efforts are continuously underway to keep this new reality going forward and I think the jail we can meet again face to face is not a way until then I hope we can feel each other each of our days to the brim with positive energy

We thought the world had stopped by the continues to move forward I believe that every choice we make is the beginning of change, not the end.

I hope that in this nascent new world we can all say to each other welcome.

BTSが国連総会で演説するのは今回が3回目

1回目：
2018年9月、第73回国連総会で国連児童基金（UNICEF）の青年「ジェネレーション・アンリミテッド」（Generation Unlimited）に出席。

リーダーRMキム・ナムジュンが代表として、若い世代に向けて「自らを愛し、声を出そう」とメッセージを伝えた。

2回目：
2020年9月、オンラインで開催された第75回の国連総会の保健安全保障友好国グループで、特別講演者として出席。

パンデミックの状況に苦しむ未来世代に向けて「人生は続くだろう。私たち一緒に生きていこう。（Life goes on. Let’s live on）」という応援のメッセージを投じた。

３回目：
2021年9月、ニューヨーク国連本部に来訪。20日朝の8時30分に本会場でスピーチ。第76回の国連総会での「SDGs Moment」というイベントに登壇。

テーマ「未来」：　リーダーRMキム・ナムジュンが、新型コロナウイルスの影響で、世の中は止まったと思ったが、少しずつ前に進んでいる、未来を諦めないで。終わりではなく変化の始まりだ！とメッセージを発信し、そのあと、国連本部の中庭で、世界に向けて”Future the Permission Dance” をパフォーマンスを披露。
